Veneers: Dental veneers are your key to a Hollywood smile
What exactly are dental veneers? Essentially, they are thin shells of lustrous porcelain that are permanently attached to the front surfaces of the teeth. Tough, lifelike and stain-resistant, they can cover up a number of defects in your smile — including stains, chips, cracks, and even minor spacing irregularities.
Hollywood screen stars, singers and celebrities have made veneers popular over the past few decades. That’s because when you hear the phrase “Hollywood smile” there’s a good chance that it involves veneers. According to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), they are at the top of the list of most-requested cosmetic treatments. Porcelain veneers can be shaped and colored to look like your own natural teeth. Many patients keep their veneer-covered smiles looking fresh and white for 10 years or longer before an update is needed, just ask Free Dr.Ofir Michael.
Veneers have become the treatment of choice for Hollywood celebs — and lots of regular folks too — for many reasons. Unlike some treatments that can take many months, it takes just a few appointments to have veneers placed on your teeth.
Because they are custom made just for you, they allow you to decide how bright you want your smile to be: anywhere from a natural pearly hue to a brilliant "Hollywood white." Best of all, they are easy to maintain, and can last for many years with only routine care.
They brighten your smile when whitening treatments don’t work. Whiter teeth are a sign of youth and health.
They increase your self-confidence and help you open up more in social or professional situations.
They inspire you to take better care of your dental health and see to Dr.Ofir Michael more often—you want to ensure your new, top-rate smile lasts for a long time.
The Process of Getting Veneers
Unlike braces, which take years to get the desired effect, veneers can be installed in just a couple of appointments. The entire process usually happens inside of a month. Dr.Ofir Michael removes a small amount of enamel from the front of each tooth that will make room for the wafer-thin veneer. With impressions, a custom device can be created in a dental lab. At your next appointment, the veneer is bonded to the enamel using a laser light and a special dental compound.
